Emphatic (and even Grandiloquent)
Power. Grace. Excellence. These words and more have defined LeBron James for the entirety of his NBA career. No other player has polarized the sport since arguably the greatest of all time, Michael Jordan. Equally impressive to the undying legacy he has built on the court with his skill, is the unnerving influence he has left off of it in underprivileged communities.
Perhaps LeBron’s most emphatic aspect of his game is the pure power that he exerts over his opponents. 6’9″, 250 pounds of lean, mean, dunking machine is an impossible force to stop for opposing teams night in and night out. Aside from his strength and forward size, LeBron possesses a guard’s touch, meaning his shots reign true more often than not, something quite uncommon for a player of his physical stature. Combine these two attributes with a relentless work ethic and desire to be great, and you will undoubtedly discover James is unmatched.
As unrivaled as LeBron’s impact on the court is, it would be a blasphemous disservice to his person if one did not acknowledge the strives he has made off of it, particularly in his home town of Akron, Ohio. LeBron’s primarily self-funded “I Promise” school opened its doors in 2018 to over 240 underprivileged middle schoolers. These students will also receive free tuition, uniforms, breakfasts and lunches daily, and free transportation within two miles of school grounds, to name a few. He has also performed countless other acts of charity to bolster his status as basketball royalty.
In all, many have come and gone. But only one can be the greatest. And however you debate it, LeBron James has certainly pleaded his case.
Chatty
Anybody who’s anybody will tell you one of the most recognizable mugs in sports today is that of LeBron James. I mean, the guy’s got the entire package: he’s the best player in the game, plenty of endorsements and personal accolades, and to boot, he’s a heck of nice guy if you ever run into him at the mall. For these reasons and more, LeBron takes the cake as the best ever.
There’s no surprise that Lebron dominates his competition on a regular basis (being really tall, strong, and fast does have its perks), but he also makes himself known through his charitable plays too. The “I Promise” school he opened late last year gives less fortunate kids a steady foundation for a better future, with free tuition, safe transportation, and most importantly, all you can eat snacks! So whatever team you’re rooting for, or how much you love MJ’s Bulls, you gotta give it up for The King, and how much he’s meant not only to basketball, but to the world around him.
