Some Stuff on a Lotta Stuff

I’m trying to keep postings a weekly thing, but writing this paper for my creative non-fiction class took up most of my free time this week. I’m doing my San Bruno pipeline fire experience, which reminded me what a crazy fuckin’ year that was. That devastating fire, living at that Embassy Suites in South San Francisco for a bit with like two pairs of clothes, just a bizarre time for me; even tougher for the victims who got the worst of it. So, as I’m trying to put all that into an essay that I’ll post here when I clean … Continue reading Some Stuff on a Lotta Stuff

Friendly Neighborhood Contract Negotiations: Disney & Sony Fall Out on Spider-Man

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be losing their favorite web-slinger (for the time being) as Disney and Sony have failed to reach an agreement on the rights to the character of Spider-Man, leaving Peter Parker’s future up in arms. Apparently, Disney asked to receive a 50-50 split with Sony for any and all things Spider-Man after only grossing about 5% thus far from movies involving the character. Hello Again

I guess I should apologize not only you, but to myself for slacking on this account. Due to a much needed relaxing vacation with my lovely partner in crime at the beginning of the month, and a generally busy work schedule, I’ve had a tough time hashing out sections of my life to post here. I was married to this website during the school year, so maybe a break was good for the both of us. Both retooled and refueled for the long run. Also, a quick unrelated note, I got the chance to finally see Hamilton at the Orpheum … Continue reading Hello Again

Is This Year The Year? (Spoiler: It’s Not)

Well, it’s that time of year again. The postseason is approaching, and the playoff seeding is beginning to set. So, we’re approached with the age old question: Who’s taking down Golden State? For the past 4 seasons, the answer has been “no one.” The Warriors have entered all those seasons as favorites to win it all, and this year appears no different. The Cavs shocked the world and all our expectations by overcoming a 3-1 deficit in the 2016 Finals, only to be punished the next two seasons by the Dubs. However, although things look bleak, nothing is ever technically … Continue reading Is This Year The Year? (Spoiler: It’s Not)

Baby Steps

Before we dip our toes into the foreign waters of blogging, let’s figure out how we got here. Picture a young boy growing up in the Bay Area, a town riddled with some of the most famous sports franchises in history, which housed the likes of iconic figures such as Joe Montana, Willie Mays, and Stephen Curry. Naturally, this young boy fell in love with the aura and culture of sport, even partaking in some as a youth with hopes of making it big. That dream quickly met its demise as the years past, but that boy turned young teenager … Continue reading Baby Steps
